TAKAGI Partners Co., Ltd., a hands-on investment firm belonging to the TAKAGI GROUP, has entered into a capital and business alliance with PLEIN Co., Ltd., a restaurant operator. Through this partnership, TAKAGI Partners and its CEO, Hidekuni Takagi, acquired a portion of the shares held by PLEIN's founder, securing a 5% stake in the company. This marks the first instance in PLEIN's history of transferring founder-held shares to an external partner.
Operating under the vision of "making the restaurant industry an aspirational profession," PLEIN engages in restaurant operations and culinary production businesses. The two companies have previously built a strong foundation of trust that transcends the traditional boundaries of landlords and tenants, collaborating on initiatives such as the establishment of variable-rent schemes based on sales and the co-development of the "SALON 91°" complex in Ginza. This capital alliance aims to further solidify this existing partnership and create new business value by combining the respective expertise of both firms.
As a key initiative of this capital and business alliance, the companies will launch "ippo to ippo," a startup support service for independent restaurant owners, in January 2027. Combining PLEIN's deep expertise in restaurant operations with the real estate specialization cultivated by the TAKAGI GROUP, the service provides comprehensive, end-to-end support ranging from property searching and business plan creation to loan applications and pre-opening preparations. Anchored by the core value of "startup support by chefs, for chefs, and of chefs," the program offers hands-on guidance focused on long-term success, going far beyond mere property introductions.
